  1. Lance. Thank you for all your videos they have helped out tremendously through our new home purchase experience. I do have a question regarding going from a "Renter" to a "Homeowner". I currently have a lease with about 5 months to go but my new home will most likely close in the next month or so. I did not expect to find a home so soon last year when we renewed our lease so I did not renew on a month to month basis. Now I am locked on a lease with an early termination fee of $2500. I reached out to the Blue Water Realty which is the company that manages the property to make them aware that I got approved for a VA loan and that I had signed a contract to purchase a new home and gave them a closing date estimate. I also asked if the it is possible to waive the $2500 early termination fee on the grounds that I have rented for about 5 years and never caused problems and never missed a payment. They simply replied "Sorry but the fee cannot be waived". My question to you: Is there any law that protects home buyers when breaking a lease due to a new home purchase? Is there any protection for Veterans specifically in situations like this? Everyone, I speak to states that "If you purchase a home they have to waive the fee". However, according to the realty company that is not the case. Our closing is within the next two months. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
